Blogger is Google's free blogging platform. It's also sometimes called Blogspot after the URL where most Blogger blogs are hosted. What's the best blog on Blogger?
The answer is up to you.
For the first time, About.com's Computing Channel will be running a coordinated Reader's Choice Award program in early 2010. During January, you'll be able to nominate your favorite sites, services and innovations in categories ranging from the best IM client and email service to best Web design and Web browser. Then, in February, check back to see if your favorite nominees made the cut, and cast your vote. Winners will be announced March 1. There's no prize -- just the bragging rights that come with getting recognized by the readers of one of the biggest tech networks on the Web.
Over the years, Blogger has hosted blogs like Pink is the New Blog, Fake Steve Jobs, and Respectful Insolence. Juno writer Diablo Cody even got started on Blogger by writing about her career as a stripper. Those blogs have all either been deleted or moved elsewhere, so none of them count for the 2010 awards.
However, there are still plenty of current Blogger users who have fantastic blogs worthy of nomination. I'm intentionally not mentioning them to avoid biasing your nominations, but I'm thinking them really loud. Blogs are eligible if they:
- Use Blogger, either at blogspot.com or on their own domain
- Have been updated regularly during 2009
