Samsung lost a big battle in their patent war against Apple on Friday. Apple alleges that Samsung infringed on a whole bunch of Apple patents around the iOS interface.
If you were wondering why Apple doesn't cut to the chase and just sue Google, from my understanding, it's because that's where the money is. It's easier to win hardware patents, especially when Google is releasing Android for free. Don't worry, though. Now that Google owns Motorola Mobility, there's plenty of hardware Apple can use for lawsuits against Google now.

Sad but inevitable that history will accord Apple and some drug companies as “Barnacles on the sphincter of progress”
It is sad that Apple has to resort to cheap strategies like suing people in court instead of focussing on innovation. The new iPhone 5 is a perfect example of a failure. Just a dumb stretched iPhone. Apple fanboys will of course disagree. Their slogan is: “iDumb, therefore iPhone” And the so called software features in the IOS6 were there much before in Android. And why sue only Samsung, when there are scores of smartphone makers who have rectagular phones with rounded edges? Get this, dumb fanboys. It’s becaouse Sameung has always improved on the iPhone models, feature-wise, technology wise and otherwise. And now Samsung has gone many steps ahead and launced the Galaxy S3 whose feet the iPhone 5 cannot even touch. Bad losers Apple!!! and good slaves fanboys!
