Google Apps for Business, the suite of Google products targeted toward business users, has gained ISO 27001 standard certification. What does that mean for the average user? Nothing. But the certification indicates an objective measure of security that business and government officials may find comforting.
Businesses are slowly bus surely figuring out that keeping their own server banks is expensive and annoying, but they've been reluctant to embrace Google. Perhaps this will help change a few minds.
