Wolfram|Alpha is a semantic search engine designed for research. Rather than searching for websites, the search engine is designed to find answers to questions from various sites on the Web.

WiMAX

WiMAX stands for Worldwide Interoperability for Microwave Access. It is a standard for delivering mobile Internet access. Google has invested $500 million into Clearwire's WiMAX business.

Web 2.0

Web 2.0 was a phrase coined by O'Reilly Media. It refers to the next generation of Web sites and Web applications. The first generation of sites on the World Wide Web tended to be static points of information, and gradually this has shifted towards Web sites that let you read, write, and edit pages.

Web Accelerator

Web Accelerator is a Google Labs project. It is Windows based add-on software for Internet Explorer or Firefox that uses various strategies to make web pages load faster.

Web Search

This is Google’s first and main function. Google is the most popular web search tool in the world, and the word “Google” has been added to the Oxford English Dictionary as a verb for web searching.

Web Toolkit

Google Web Toolkit is a tool for developers. Google calls it a “development framework that lets you escape the matrix of technologies that make writing AJAX applications so difficult and error prone.

White Hat Search Engine Optimization

Search engine optimization (SEO) is often divided into ethical and unethical practices. White hat SEO refers to those practices generally regarded as ethical.

Wiki

Wikis get their name from the Hawaiian term "wiki wiki," which means quickly. Wikis are quick ways for collaborative creation and editing of documents.

Writely

Writely is an experimental online word processor. It is still in the early stages of development and is not currently open to new users.

Motorola Xoom

The Motorola Xoom is an Android tablet.

Doug Edwards coined this term for ex-Googlers, or former Google employees.
