Universal Search

By Marziah Karch, About.com

Definition: Google universal search means that results from multiple specialized searches will appear within the main Google Web search results instead of showing up as a separate box at the top of the search results page.

Not all Google sources appear in Google universal search results.

Examples:
Search results for YouTube videos or Google Book results may appear in the main Google search. The results will be ranked according to relevance, rather than floating above other results.
