Where can I find old indexes of websites in Google?

By Marziah Karch, About.com

Question: Where can I find old indexes of websites in Google?
Where can I find a "Google time machine" to show me an old index of websites in Google?
Answer: As part of their tenth birthday celebration, Google introduced the oldest index they still had available. It only goes back to 2001, but it was still pretty fun to browse. The old search engine was only brought back as part of Google's tenth birthday, and the feature is now gone.

You can also view the most recently cached page on websites by using Google's cache syntax or just clicking on the cached page in search results.

If you're interested in the oldest archived pages, you can also go to the Internet Archive's Wayback Machine. It's not maintained by Google, but the Wayback Machine has sites that are indexed as far back as 1999.
