Definition: ShopSavvy is an application for Android-powered mobile phones. This program turns uses the camera on your cell phone to scan the bar code from items. It comparison shops for the lowest local and online price for that item and shows you reviews of the item.

If you decide you want to purchase something, ShopSavvy lets you go to the website from your phone, get driving directions, or dial the merchant directly.

ShopSavvy was written by a company called Big in Japan. It was originally called Go Cart, and was one of the winners of a Google sponsored developer challenge with a cash prize.

You can download ShopSavvy onto your Android-powered phone using the Android Market.
