If you have a Flickr account, you can keep an eye on recent activity in your photo stream as well as your contacts' photo stream. You can also search keywords or find random interesting photos. The gadget will expand if you want a larger view.
The drawback to this particular tool is that it takes a long time to load all those preview photos, and you can't leave comments or tag photos from the gadget.
