Definition: Lively was a 3D virtual chat world created by Google. You could create 3D chat rooms and customize the content. You chose your own avatar, which could be customized by selecting from clothing and hair choices.

Lively was a short-lived service. Google announced the service in the summer of 2008 and pulled the plug by winter. The US economy had gone into recession, and Lively was not an instant hit or a tool with an easy path to profitability.

Lively was available on the Web at www.lively.com.
