Definition: YouTube Symphony Orchestra is both a contest and an event on YouTube. Participants downloaded sheet music and uploaded a video of themselves performing it. Their performance were used in a massive video performance.
World renowned classical music experts selected semi-finalists from the video submissions, and YouTube community members voted for finalists from that selection. The finalists won a chance to participate in a three day music summit ending in a live performance at Carnegie Hall in New York.
