The Android OS boasts a large number of apps for download through the Android Market and a wide variety of phones and carriers. It's a solid choice for anyone that isn't already sporting an iPhone.

Screen Capture From the Google StoreI've seen people stand in line for hours at conventions for a chance at a Google T-shirt. You can surprise and delight a Google fan by buying them a T-shirt of their own from the official Google Store. Nobody has to know that you didn't wait in line.
They also sell hats, bags, mugs, bean bag chairs, and other items. The selection varies. Most items are also environmentally friendly and made from sustainable or recycled materials. I've purchased items from the Google Store, and they have all been well made.

Googlepedia is a great introductory book for the beginning to intermediate Google fan. Google changes rapidly, so you can't rely on
everything being in the book, but it gets pretty close. The language is also very approachable, which might make it a good gift to explain Blogger to your mother.

The SpaceNavigator is not a mouse replacement. You use it in your other hand at the same time you use your mouse. It's available in several versions, but the Personal Edition is the best bet for non-professionals.
