Definition: Google Spreadsheets was a Google Labs project that allowed you to create, edit, and share spreadsheets.
The web-based program also allowed you to import Excel spreadsheets from your desktop or download an export them. Although it was initially a standalone service, Google Spreadsheets was folded into Google Docs.
In addition to simple spreadsheets, the app now has templates, forms and gadgets for additional functionality.
