By Marziah Karch, About.com

Definition: Picasa is a free photo organization tool for Windows, Macs, and Linux that allows you to organize photos on your computer hard drive. It is a software download. Picasa is also included with the Google Pack for Windows.

Photos are organized by folder. They can be rated or assigned to albums for easy searching. You can also use it for minor photo editing, such as cropping and removing red eye.

Pictures in Picasa can be used to print photos in traditional sizes. You can print them to your printer or order physical prints directly from Web-based photo labs.

Photos can also be collaged or exported to Tivo.

Picasa uploads photos to the Web by exporting them to Picasa Web Albums or Blogger.

Picasa can be downloaded from Google at picasa.google.com.
