Google Living Stories is an experimental way to feature news stories. The idea came from talks between Google, The Washington Post, and About.com's parent company, The New York Times.
Online news stories are often presented as dynamic pages with individual articles. Each article needs to repeat background information, and it's hard to tell what information has changed since you last visited.
Living Stories have stable URLs and are organized by development. This makes it easier to follow breaking stories and also gives consumers a chance to stay with a single news source.
As a Google Labs project, Living Stories will likely undergo drastic changes.
Living Stories are available on the Web at livingstories.googlelabs.com.
