Doorway Pages

By Marziah Karch, About.com

Definition: Doorway pages or Gateway pages are pages that are optimized for one key term but are really designed to be gateways to lead you to a different, central page. These pages usually have very little original content and provide a poor user experience.

This used to be a common technique, but Google has started removing doorway pages from their search engine index.
