The Cloud

Definition: "The cloud" is a term used by network professionals for the Internet. Network diagrams often depict the Internet as a cloud shape, which may be the origin of the term.

Google CEO Eric Schmidt has referred to Google's services as "cloud computing."

It starts with the premise that the data services and architecture should be on servers... – they should be in a ‘cloud’ somewhere.
Also Known As: Network cloud
Examples: I like to store my files in the cloud, so I can access them from anywhere.
