CPC - Cost Per Click

By , About.com Guide

Definition: Cost Per Click, or CPC is one method of payment for AdSense Ads. In the CPC system, webmasters hosting the AdSense ads are paid a price for every person who clicks on an ad.

Google strictly forbids webmasters from asking people to click on the ads or using other methods of click fraud, which artificially elevate the number of clicks registered with Google.

The price webmasters are paid depends on the demand for the particular keywords the ads are targeted towards. The other method of payment for AdSense is CPM.
