In a weird marketing move, Google is offering to let you pay to beta test their product. Google is offering to let 8000 lucky American participants who are willing to spend $1500 and travel at their own expense to New York or Los Angeles the chance to spend their money on a product that isn't quite ready for wide release.
And strangely, a lot of us are tempted by the offer. Google is asking for social media posts with the hashtag #ifihadglass as applications for this beta invite. They're promising nothing other than a chance to pay to own a pair of cyborg glasses before everyone else.
