I'm in the Kansas City area, but sadly not in Kansas City itself. We knew Google was going to make an announcement about plans for the Google Fiber project sometime this summer, and Thursday was finally the day. That doesn't mean anyone will actually get cable today. Google is still getting preregistration for neighborhoods, or Fiberhoods as the company put it. It's still pretty exciting stuff. I just wish I had a slightly different zip code.

Well, you can always move to Brookside or Ward Parkway, which is the nicer areas in KC that are getting the fiber. I am impressed with the pricing and what I have seen so far, but waiting to see what the IPTV package will ultimately provide.
