AdSense for Feeds

Wednesday August 20, 2008
A lot of professional blog writers earn their income from advertising revenue, but an increasing number of blog readers enjoy their blog fix from a feed reader, like Google Reader, and not all of them may click through to read the original article on your site. One way around this is to put ads directly into your feed, so readers see the ads in either location.

It used to be that one of the only ways to create ads was through FeedBurner using the FeedBurner Ad Network. Although it was a bit tricky to set up, the system worked well enough that it was probably one of the reasons Google bought FeedBurner.

In May this year, FeedBurner announced that they'd be migrating their ads into a new program called AdSense for Feeds. Until recently, it was an invitation only beta program, but as of Friday, it was opened up to all AdSense users.
