What's the Difference Between Google Apps and Google App Engine?

Thursday April 24, 2008
Google might want to consider some new names for their services. Google Apps and Google App Engine have names that are just a little too similar. Yesterday at the Kansas City event for Google Apps, someone told me they ran into a couple of very disappointed developers. They wanted to write applications for Google App Engine and hadn't realized that this event wasn't intended for them.

I've written an article that hopefully will help clear this up a little. In the meantime, maybe Google could think of a better name for Google Apps. It's not the first time the name has confused people.
