Google released a new API for YouTube integration. What this means is that developers will be able to more easily integrate YouTube videos into their programs.
One example is the upcoming EA Games release, Spore, which will let users make and play YouTube videos from inside the game. I can't wait to see if other games use this API, too. It would be perfect in Second Life.
Another company that started early development with the new API is TiVo. They just announced they'll let TiVo Series 3 users view YouTube videos from their TV in an upgrade that will arrive by year's end. You can already view YouTube videos on AppleTV and Wii, so this is yet another way that YouTube can replace your traditional TV viewing.
