JotSpot Is Google Sites!
Google Apps users can now take advantage of JotSpot, the wiki tool that Google purchased back in 2006. The new name is Google Sites, and so far it looks like this is aimed at Microsoft SharePoint.I've played around a little, and I like what I see so far. It looks like it offers standard Web page creation and editing tools, a list tool for managing tasks in group projects, a "file cabinet" for sharing group media assets, an announcement tool (which looks a lot like a blog), and a "dashboard" for showing off Google Gadgets. It also seemlessly ties in with other existing Google products, like Picasa, Google Docs, and YouTube.
Now this is still not as feature rich as a combination of Office and SharePoint, but the interface is already easier to understand. It's also much cheaper.

It is true this version of sites does not have nearly the capabilities Notes or Sharepoint may offer but I think organizations will quickly realize it has enough functions to offer an alternative especially when complimented by offerings from vendors like us that offer simple, fast and low cost realtime integration and mashup capabilities. http://www.xaware.org
