Google Android or Business as Usual?

In my last post, I made some predictions for 2008. It's interesting to read other predictions. Android is getting mixed opinions. It seems people either love it or hate it.

One optimistic report outlines a few challenges. Scott Moritz thinks Android will fall flat, while Garett Rogers thinks Android will really take off.

I'm more inclined to believe Garett Rogers because he actually works in the mobile software industry. I also take issue with the idea that, "people like cheap phones and they don't mind contracts." The iPhone pretty much proved that people don't mind paying a lot for a phone if it's really cool. If I had a dollar for every person who told me they were buying an iPhone as soon as it worked with their carrier, I'd have enough to buy my own iPhone.
