The Google Phone Is the Google OS

The Google phone rumors are true. Google is announcing their phone solution in about half an hour. Their platform is called Android.

Google purchased Android in 2005 and kept quiet about plans for the company. Android's founder, Andy Rubin, is now Director of Mobile Platforms for Google.

Other companies involved include:

• Deutsche Telekom, parent company of T-Mobile
• HTC
• Qualcomm
• Motorola
