Google and EBay Back Together Again

Friday June 22, 2007
Last week eBay yanked all their AdWords advertising on Google. The move appeared to be in reaction to a party Google planned on throwing to protest eBay's refusal to allow eBay sellers to accept Google Checkout as a payment method.

Google canceled the party when eBay yanked their ads, and eBay claimed that moving all their ads to Google's competitors was just an experiment.

EBay now says that they'll resume advertising on Google, but they won't spend as much as they used to, because traffic was up, even without the Google ads. This could be good news for Google rivals Yahoo! and Microsoft, who sell competing advertising services. EBay was one of AdWord's largest customers.
