Google Fun

Tuesday September 12, 2006
In the mood for some comedy? I certainly am. Andy Borowitz wrote a wonderful satire of President Bush's speech.

The president concluded his speech by warning the world's most wanted man, "I'm Googling you right now. And I'm feeling lucky."

If you're not laughing yet, try searching in elgooG . It's just like Google, except backwards. You'll get the same search results, but you'll have to type your queries in backwards, too. To search for cheese, you'd type in "eseehc." If you hit the "yckuL gnileeF m'I" button, the results will not be reversed.

Another fun Google game is the classic "ego Google" where you type your name followed by is in quotes, ie "Joe is." You then pick out the phrases from the results page, like "Joe is a nice guy" or "Joe is crazy." The game is a lot easier with Googlism . Googlism only searches for "so-and-so is" patterns in Google and gives you complete sentences as results. Try it with your name, and then try it with your friends and family members. The first result for "Joe" is so funny that I won't give it away.

If you've got a favorite Google game, share it with everyone by commenting here or posting in the forums.
