Google Spreadsheets Gets an Upgrade

Sunday September 10, 2006
I'm a big fan of Google Spreadsheets. Today, I'm a bigger fan. Google has just added some features.
  • You can now put multiple lines in the same cell.
  • You can see your Gmail contacts when you invite others to share access.
  • You can now share read only access to everyone by publishing the spreadsheet to URL, similar to the way you'd do this with Writely.
  • You can print your document from the Web with a print button.
This is really fantastic news. You do not know how annoyed I was at the lack of print button. You used to have to give someone editing access, so they could download the spreadsheet for printing. What a pain. No charts yet, but rumor has it that they're in the works.
