Apple and Google Have Something in Common

Wednesday August 30, 2006
Apparently Google CEO Dr. Eric Schmidt had too much free time on his hands. That problem has now been solved, because in addition to beign Google CEO, he's been elected to Apple's board of directors. In addition to sitting on both Google and Apple's board of directors, Schmidt also sits on Princeton University’s board of trustees. That's a lot of meetings.

“Apple is one of the companies in the world that I most admire,” said Eric Schmidt. “I'm really looking forward to working with Steve and Apple’s board to help with all of the amazing things Apple is doing.”

Joking aside, this is an interesting development. I wonder if this will fuel more Windows Google downloads to be made mac friendly. It may also inspire more Google friendly developments in the Mac OSX. Mac OSX web browser Safari was one of the first web browsers to include a Google search area right in the upper right hand corner of the browser.
