Writely Is Open!

I've been waiting for months to post about this. Writely is finally open for new accounts. Writely is an online word processing application that Google purchased in March. It was closed for new accounts until just this week. Here's a quick screen capture I took:

I think Writely will make an excellent back to school present for all those students who still have to use lab computers to write their papers. This way, they can write their papers online from any computer with Internet access. I imagine Microsoft is probably more than a little concerned, since between Writely and Spreadsheets, owning Office has become just a little more optional.
