New Google Talk Features

Google just announced new features for Google Talk. Google Talk users can now share files and photos by dropping them into a chat window. You can also use Google Talk to show your current music choices. You can also see what everyone else is listening to by looking at the new Google Music Trends.

Google says that current Talk users will get updated within the next couple of days, but you can always just download the newest version.

This, of course, only works if you're using the actual Google Talk client. You can use other chat clients to chat with your Google Talk account. I do most of my chatting on my mac with Adium and on my PC with Trillian. I like using a client that supports more than one service, because not everyone I know uses the same chat service. I'll have to do some experimenting to see which chat client supports the new features.
