Google's No Idiot

Rounding up the news today, ACS has quietly dropped a trademark lawsuit against Google Scholar. As an academic, this warms my heart, because I love the way Google does searches, and I’d hate to see this new service go away. Meanwhile, Kevin Kelleher declares that Google is no idiot.

Speaking of scholars and non-idiots, one researcher’s made a malaware search based off of Google. It searches for specific data strings to try and find infected sites on the Internet.

Even cooler is this guy’s idea for Google 3D. No, it’s not real. It’s the HSBC Innovation Award 2006 winner, and I really hope Google’s looking at his resume.
